MINI BIO:

Martin cashed in on his own image as a heavy-drinking ladies' man to make people laugh, then surprised many of them by quitting as straight man to Jerry Lewis after a partnership that lasted from 1946 to 1957, and becoming, after an uncertain start, one of Hollywood's top box office attractions.

Warner Archive Blu-ray: Judy Holliday and Charm in Bells Are Ringing (1960)

By KC on Mar 2, 2017 From Classic Movies

Director Vincent Minnelli's Bells Are Ringing (1960) has its fans, but I've never felt this musical gets the love it deserves. Perhaps stars Judy Holliday and don't offer vocal or dancing pyrotechnics, but they are nevertheless perfectly suited to the genre, giving performances that are ... Read full article

Dean Martin Facts
Nephew of actor/comedian Leonard Barr.

Dean was so distraught over the murder of his The Wrecking Crew (1969) co-star and friend Sharon Tate that he abandoned the next already-announced "Matt Helm" motion picture series installment (to be titled "The Ravagers"), and never played the character again.

He and former wife Jeanne Martin maintained a friendship after their divorce, and consulted each other on family matters. When his health declined, Jeanne encouraged him not to worry about facing death, and to look at it as the chance he longed for, to be reunited with their son Dean Paul Martin, and with his parents.
