Grease, South Pacific, White Christmas Among 13 Films Heading Back to the Silver Screen
The screenings will kick off in January 2018 through TCM Big Screen Classics with The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
A host of classic motion pictures of interest to theatre fans-including the movie musicals South Pacific, Grease,and White Christmas-are headed back to the silver screen in 2018.
In fact, six decades of Hollywood hits will fill movie theatres across the country next year as Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies present 13 films spanning the 1930s to the 1990s, each accompanied by specially produced commentary from TCM hosts.
Among the other titles part of the TCM Big Screen Classics series are three films that were eventually turned into Broadway musicals: Sunset Boulevard, starring Gloria Swanson; The Producers, starring Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel; and the Tom Hanks hit Big.
One film will be presented each month (August will feature two films), and each title will be offered just four times-typically on Sundays and Wednesdays at 2 PM and 7 PM local time.
