Her husband John Profumo was involved in a 1963 sex scandal that brought down Britain's Conservative Government once it was revealed he was having an affair with call girl who was also involved with a Soviet military attache.

Her middle child, Mark Havelock-Allan, was born April 4, 1951.

Her oldest son, Simon, was born with Down's Syndrome.

Her salary for Bride of Frankenstein (1935) was only $800 due to her being a minor at the time.

Her youngest child is author David Profumo, b. October 16, 1955, who wrote a book, "Bringing the House Down," about his father's scandal.



She stood by her husband after he was involved in the Christine Keeler scandal in the '60s. He was forced to resign as minister for war.

Stopped taking her medication which led to the heart attack that killed her.

Twelve years before playing Estella in Great Expectations (1946), she filmed several scenes as Biddy in Great Expectations (1934) which were eventually cut. Francis L. Sullivan played Mr Jaggers in both films.
