Director-producer W. Lee Wilder (and his son, the film's screenwriter 'Miles Wilder') deliberately took the name of the police detective, Lt. Dunbar (played by William Phipps) from the name of the prisoner of war played by Don Taylor in the film Stalag 17, which was written, produced and directed by W. Lee's much more famous brother: Billy Wilder.

This low budget 1954 release is believed to be the first film about the Yeti.
