The film premiered in New York along with a series of Vitaphone short subjects that included _Cugat and his Gigolos (1928)_ . The feature itself was met with derisive laughter resulting from the stilted dialogue.
The short subjects A Spanish Ensemble, Stories in Song, Quartette from 'Rigoletto' played before this film in many venues during its initial release.
