  1. RD says:

I have heard it is an excellent film.

  2. Tim says:

Glory has an amazing cast, fantastic story and a powerful music score. The actors give top notch performances in the film as well. Broderick really show range as well as Denzel and Morgan freeman. The ending is so powerful as well.

I’d love to take my son to see the film in the theater. I have it on blu ray and he hasn’t seen it before. I think movies breathe and are so much more powerful on a big screen. I experienced this with seeing Field of Dreams this week.

    Thanks!

  3. I haven’t seen it, but I want to see it because, my parents use to watch it especially my dad, but my mom hasn’t watched it since my dad passed away, so I would enjoy seeing that movie with her.

  4. Dani says:

Glory is a ‘classic’ because it sticks with you. I remember the first time I saw the film. I am able to recall each subsequent showing I was able to partake in. A classic film is not simply having an excellent cast – which this does with Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, and Matthew Broderick – or a great script or an excellent score – a great James Horner product. It isn’t simply winning Oscars or being the first to do something – first major motion picture to tell black US civil war soldiers’ stories. A ‘classic’ is a movie that you remember. That affects the audience. That makes you think, feel, and not forget. Glory does this. It is powerful. It is memorable. It is a classic.

  5. Cathi Kmieciak Carpenter says:

Glory is a classic for several reasons.. big, sweeping story in the style of other big films… a blockbuster cast of older estBlished stars, younger stars of thextimecthe film was was and several smaller, ‘unknowns ‘ who later became giants.. lastly a classic story of various elements mixed in with actual historical value.

I am 53 and had the pleasure of seeing Glory on the big screen, ‘back in the day’ but now it is my 17yr old boy’s turn. He is a huge history nut and every summer he and I do our own ‘film festivals ‘ at home. We have done the 80’s, films with Tom Hanks, Westerns, classic comedies etc. I would love for him to see Mathew Broderick did more than ‘Feris’ and Denzel was something other than ‘The Equalizer’🤣🤣

I did not see this when it came out and was excited to see it scheduled as a big screen Fathom Event. America’s history is complex, a sanitized word we substitute for “deeply morally compromised” and I have a growing interest in looking at how the events of this history are treated in popular media, especially movies.

  7. julie moon says:

It is a story that is always timely, and the fact that it educates us about an important, not- in- the- history -books part of our country’s history is so important! The acting was superb, and the script so believable.

  8. Susan Lomauro says:

Glory was and is an inspiration to me. It tells a story of a courageous group of men who showed bravery beyond measure. The movie came out at a time in my life when I was at a crossroads and struggling to find a purpose. The story of the 54th Mass and Col. Shaw was a revelation and inspired me to fight on!

  9. Chris Mathews says:

What makes Glory a classic is it demands the best of its actors regardless of who they are. Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman are known for their dramatic work and live their characters. Matthew Broderick known mostly for comedies to this point in time is given an opportunity to grow in this film, just as his character goes from a rich kid in way over his head, to becoming a true leader of men when it truly matters. Broderick’s character becomes a foil for Denzel’s character, who goes from a man who trusts no one, and with good reason, to a man determined to carry the fight after the fall of the man who inspired him to fight for a better future.

  10. Jamie S says:

Haven’t seen this one yet, but love these amazing actors! Would love to see it on the big screen!

  11. Steve D says:

I never got to see “Glory,” but it has gotten rave reviews and has an outstanding cast, so it would be great to finally see what it’s all about.

  12. Jennifer Zogott Levy says:

First-rate acting and a moving story.

  13. Shanna Parker says:

I have seen it and no matter how many times, I end up in tears. So many emotions invoked by this film and now that my son is of age to understand/appreciate,I’d love to have him see it on the big screen.
