Eddie Byrne Overview:
Character actor, Eddie Byrne, was born on Jan 31, 1911 in Birmingham, England. Byrne died at the age of 70 on Aug 21, 1981 in Dublin, Ireland .
Open-faced Irish character player with dark, crinkly hair, often seen as figures of some authority, who came to British films after winning attention both as a variety star and a straight actor at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin. He had one or two minor leading roles in the early 1950s, a decade in which he seemed to be turning up in every third British film. He returned to Ireland in the mid 1960s.(Source: available at Amazon Quinlan's Film Character Actors: an Illustrated Directory).
