The United Methodist Church of LaVerne made movie history when it was used for the ending scene of The Graduate -- when Benjamin (Dustin Hoffman) breaks up Elaine's (Katharine Ross) wedding. Although, in the movie, the wedding was said to take place in Santa Barbara, the location of the church was in fact, in LaVerne.
