Winged Victory Overview:

Winged Victory (1944) was a Drama - War Film directed by George Cukor and produced by Darryl F. Zanuck.

SYNOPSIS

This flag-waver dedicated to the men of the Army Air Force is directed by Cukor, a director better known for deft handling of drama than wartime action. But that may explain the main interest being the lives of the wives left behind as the men go first to training and then to war. Holliday shines in the first of several films she would appear in for Cukor.

Near the end of the movie the B-24 bombers, flown by actual Army Air Corp pilots, were flying toward the bridge. The movie appears to cut filming the bombers before the three planes reach the bridge.
