Susan and God Overview:

Susan and God (1940) was a Drama - Comedy Film directed by George Cukor and produced by Hunt Stromberg.

SYNOPSIS

This is a terrific performance by Crawford as a self-absorbed society matron. After alienating her husband (March) and daughter (Quigley), Crawford returns from Europe where she has embraced a faddish new religious practice that encourages total confession as a means of wiping away sin. Crawford baffles her cynical friends, and her family nearly splits until she has a real epiphany and begins to sincerely practice her belief. Cukor directs a sparkling script by Loos.
