The film was one of several late 1942 MGM films which were backlogged and may not have been released nationally until 1943, although many press previews and reviews appeared in October 1942.
An ending similar to Manhattan Melodrama (the film on which this movie was based) was written and filmed, but was discarded before the first press preview.
