The TWA Convair 880 seen in the film, tail number N820TW, was later destroyed during a pilot training exercise on 13 September 1965 at the Kansas City airport.
Writer William Inge asked to have his name removed from the credits after the producers changed his script without his permission in an effort to spotlight the film's star, Ann-Margret. He was credited as "Walter Gage".
