Beck grew up in the Forest Park section of Baltimore, Maryland along with his 2 sisters, Dorothy and Ida. He was also a graduate of Forest Park High School.
Buried along with the rest of his family at Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland. His grave is near the road of the northernmost part of section 'P' near the large Crowl family marker.
