Not a lavish MGM production despite the star power of Elizabeth Taylor and William Powell (in his last Metro appearance, and just two pictures - How to Marry a Millionaire and Mister Roberts - away from retirement), this movie went unnoticed by the contemporary film critics at The New York Times.
