He was a teacher at Cranleigh School, Surrey.

He was awarded Knight Bachelor of the Order of the British Empire in the 1959 Queen's Honours List for his services to drama.

Michael Redgrave passed away only one day after his 77th birthday.

Was once considered for the dual role of Cervantes and Don Quixote, when the stage production of "Man of La Mancha" was undergoing preliminary rough drafts and its ultimate composer and lyricist had not yet joined the project.
