First appearance of the Tasmanian Devil.

Producer Edward Selzer disliked the Tasmanian Devil and asked that no further cartoons be made with him. It was studio head Jack L. Warner who asked for more cartoons with "Taz Boy" (as the animators called him), on the strength of audience response to the character. Hence, there is a three year difference between this cartoon and Taz's next appearance in Bedevilled Rabbit.

The names of the two Tasmanian Devils Bugs marries are 'Claude' and 'Rosebud', stated in the final minute of 1957's Bedevilled Rabbit cartoon.

While Robert McKimson and his team were discussing new adversaries for Bugs Bunny, animator Sid Marcus suggested offhandedly that they have used everything except a Tasmanian devil. They looked the animal up in the encyclopedia and decided he would make a good foil for Bugs.
