Wylie Watson

Died at age 77.

His father and mother were originally with the Carl Rosa Opera Company with whom Watson toured later with his sister. He played the 'Cello and his sister the Harp, he also had a Soprano voice. Amongst many famous variety club names that they toured with were Charles Chaplin, Wilkie Bard, Marie Lloyd and Sir Harry Lauder.

In 1948 he received a "Daily Express" film award for his outstanding performance in London Belongs To Me (1948).

Met his wife, Ada, at the Empire Theatre, Liverpool, in which they were both appearing.

Once his voice began to break and still in his teens he began a 10-year tour through Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and India with Jack Walker's company known as 'The Seven Butterflies'.
