As a teenager, she was one of the original members of Gilmor Brown's acting company, which evolved into the Pasadena Playhouse.

First woman president of the Hollywood local chapter of AFTRA and was voted "Woman of the Year" by both AFTRA and the Pasadenna Playhouse.
