Lucien Littlefield

Lucien Littlefield

Brother of Ralph Littlefield.

Character comedian of prolific output, who played mild-mannered or harassed little men, bucolic country types and doctors for almost half a century. His looks encouraged casting directors to hire him to play wizened old men. He trained at a military academy and made his stage debut at the age of 7, then starred in the Vitagraph comedy shorts "The Potters". Notable performances in The Cat and the Canary (1927) and Sons of the Desert (1933) with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Child: Constance Palmer Littlefield
