Caterina Boratto

Caterina Boratto

Her first director, Guido Brignone, found some difficulties to persuade her family: they did not want their daughter to become an actress

In 1938, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer tycoon Louis B. Mayer offered Boratto a contract. She was invited to Hollywood where she was groomed to be the new Jeanette MacDonald but nothing came out of it and Boratto soon grew impatient. She decided to return to Italy just after the war was declared.
