The spirited, wisecracking comedic actress died after she apparently fell asleep while smoking in her Palm Springs bedroom. It was the same house in which her famous mother, Joan Davis, died two years earlier of a heart attack.
Two children: Guy Steven Grossman, born December 17, 1955, and Laurance S. Grossman, born September 8, 1959. They both died in the fire on October 24, 1963 that killed their mother and great-grandmother, Nina Davis.
Was a regular companion of James Dean during the summer, while he was a student at UCLA. [1951]
