Gary Cooper, the retired marshall scheduled to leave town with his new Quaker bride, does his lonely duty at high noon for an ungrateful town.
Dimitri Tiomkin normally wrote film scores (for Frank Capra and others), but his song 'Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling' (with words by Ned Washington) became a huge hit.
