High Noon (1952)

Gary Cooper, the retired marshall scheduled to leave town with his new Quaker bride, does his lonely duty at high noon for an ungrateful town.

Dimitri Tiomkin normally wrote film scores (for Frank Capra and others), but his song 'Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling' (with words by Ned Washington) became a huge hit.

With Gary Cooper, Grace Kelly, Thomas Mitchell, Lloyd Bridges, Katy Jurado, Otto Kruger, Lon Chaney, Henry Morgan.

Directed by Fred Zinnemann. Produced by Stanley Kramer. Written by Carl Foreman, from The Tin Star by John W. Cunningham. Photographed by Floyd Crosby. Music by Dimitri Tiomkin. Republic. 85 mins.

Plays Friday through Sunday (August 10-12) at 7:30, with additional weekend matinee at 4:10.
