About the Book:  In You Ain’t Heard Nothin’ Yet, James Bawden and Ron Miller return with a new collection of rare interviews with iconic film stars including Henry Fonda, Esther Williams, Buster Keaton, Maureen O’Sullivan, Walter Pidgeon, and many more. The book is filled with humorous anecdotes and incredible behind-the-scenes stories. For instance, Bette Davis reflects that she and Katharine Hepburn were both considered for the role of Scarlett O’Hara but neither was “gorgeous enough” for the part; Janet Leigh analyzes the famous shower scene in Psycho (1960), which was shot in seven days and gave the actress nightmares for years; and Jimmy Stewart describes Alfred Hitchcock as a “strange, roly-poly man, interested only in blondes and murder.” Popular horror film stars from Lon Chaney Jr. to Boris Karloff and Vincent Price are also featured in a special “movie monsters” section.

  1. Phyl says:

I would interview Simone Simon because there’s not a whole lot known about her. Others would include Ella Raines, Dennis Morgan, and Eleanor Parker.

  2. Mark PAGAN says:

After some thought.. Jason Robards. Tell me about 3 films in particular: A Thousand Clowns, All the President’s Men, and Parenthood.

  3. Nathan Petrie says:

I’d wanna chat with John Wayne. He count?

  4. Liliana Radwanski says:

If, I could’ve interviewed one Actor or Director for me, it would be Bette Davis.
Bette was one of the hardest working Actresses in the industry. She went from a State Actress to the Big Screen. She was natural and not a phony.she could play devious like in Human Bondage to a Heroine as in Now Voyager.a dying heiress in Dark Victory to an aging Stage Actress in All About Eve as Margot Channing.
She was a New England girl.she never forgot her roots.I would love to have asked her about those kissing screen tests and who her favorite guys were.she would’ve been a great interview because, she pulled no punches, she was Frank and alot of fun.

  5. Liliana Radwanski says:

    Just tweeted

  6. Carl says:

What a great-looking book, I’d love to win a copy. I think Danny Kaye would make a great interviewee. I always enjoyed his performances both comic and serious and I’d like to know more about his activism during the very frightening McCarthy years. Thanks again for the chance to win!

  7. Kassidy Jacobs says:

If I could pick one classic movie star, it would have to be James Dean. He was my favorite old hollywood star. He had so much potential and it saddens me that his life & career was cut so short. I would love to talk to him so we could learn some of the things we missed while he was alive. I miss him so much & would love to have gotten the chance to speak to him! I do not have a Twitter so I am posting the message here.

    • Annmarie Gatti says:

Oh wow. Good one! Such an incredible actor… reduces me to tears in East of Eden… Thanks for entering and Good Luck 🙂

  8. M.T. Fisher says:

I would love to interview Walter Pidgeon, due to the length of his career, and the people he worked with. What stories he would have. Also, I’d get to hear one of filmdom’s most magnificent voices (Which I would love to have myself.) in person.

  9. Brittaney B says:

I would interview Cary Grant, so I could ask him one question. “Will you marry me?”
I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

  10. David Hollingsworth says:

If I could, I would like to interview Cary Grant. Of course I wouldn’t be able to concentrate on my questions for him. After all, he is Cary Grant. He just exuded charm, sex appeal, and substance.

  11. I think I would interview Dick Powell. As a star of screen, radio, TV, as well as a producer and song and dance man, we would have no shortage of things to talk about.

  12. Emmalee Wisecarver says:

I would interview Gene Tierney because she is my favorite actress of all time and I haven’t been able to find any older interviews with her from when she was younger.

  13. Vickie L Gleason says:

This is hard as there are so many I would love to interview. Maureen O’Hara, John Wayne, Spencer Tracy, Bette Davis, and on and on. But the one that goes way back that I would love to hear about early career all the way through is Lucille Ball. She has always been one of my favorites and the one that introduced me to so many classic stars and got me interested in the Classic Films.

  14. MAry Alletto says:

I would have loved to set and talk with Spencer Tracy. He has always struck me to be a very likable character and he has acted with just about everyone. The stories he would be able to tell..

  15. Pingback: “MY SEVEN MINUTES ALONE WITH ELIZABETH TAYLOR” | The University Press of Kentucky

  16. Javier Valverde says:

If I had the chance to interview one Classic Movie Star or Director, it would be Bette Davis and the reason would be because she’s my favorite actress in Hollywood history. I would want to ask her questions about the filming of her famous films and her impressions of other studios where she worked at, like RKO for Of Human Bondage and at MGM for A Catered Affair, since they were different than Warner Brothers in style.

  18. Stuart Cook says:

My choice would be James Cagney. He did it all, singing, dancing, the dramatic plus westerns. The man was so versatile and talented, it would be nice to learn of his backgrounds and how he could adapt to all these different performances that he gave.
I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

  19. Keller Whalen says:

I would like to interview John Barrymore. I’d love to hear his theory of film and stage acting and talk to him about his contemporaries.

  20. Carolyn Elmore says:

If I could interview any classic Hollywood Star, I’d choose Elizabeth Taylor because she seems so genuine and willing to tell the real story. She led a tremendously interesting life and it would be thrilling to know her insights into the era.

    Carolyn Elmore

    • Annmarie Gatti says:

Hi Carolyn, I can’t recall if you have a twitter account or not… If you did tweet, can you please confirm because I can’t seem to find it, and if you don’t have a twitter account please let me know. Thanks!

  21. Richard Peterson says:

James Dean cause he was the best actor ever whose life was cut short.

    • Annmarie Gatti says:

Hi Richard, I can’t seem to find your tweet. Could you please confirm that you tweeted, or let me know if you don’t have a twitter account. Thanks!

  22. Laurie says:

Id choose to interview Ginger Rogers. She seemed to have had such an interesing life and her career took many paths and she was good at everything!

  23. Joi Sigers says:

What a great question – and such a tough one! I have so many stars that I just adore (Lucille, Ginger, Audrey, Rita, Judy, Fred Astaire, Jimmy Stewart, William Powell, George Saunders, Ray Milland, Barbara Stanwyck…) and would want to interview any of them – as well as MANY others. However, if I had to pick just one, I’d go with Judy Garland. I am so intrigued by her. Anyone who has read about her life knows this lady went through hell and battled demons most of us will never know anything about. And yet she left the world with so much beauty in her movies and songs. She was so lovely and so talented! Her voice was like that of an angel and her acting blows my mind. When I have a Judy Garland movie on, I’m in Heaven. Her expressions, hand movements, the things she did with her her voice – amazing. I’m not sure if I’d be more interested in asking her questions or in simply telling her how wonderful she was! Maybe both. – Joi (“Joy”)

  24. Ana Roland says:

If I had the chance to interview one Classic Movie Star it would be Mabel Normand. She was a popular star, screenwriter, director, and producer in the late 1910s and early 1920s. At the height of her career she had her own movie studio and production company. She is one of the early pioneers of the film industry. I am also intrigued with her association in the unsolved murder of director William Desmond Taylor and some other early Hollywood scandals that led to a decline in her career.

  25. Sara Stewart says:

Vincent Price because he has SO many incredible stories to tell. His personal life was just as fascinating as the movies he was in, which were ALL incredible.

  26. Christian Ramos says:

I would love to talk to Bette Davis to be honest. I’ve found a new love for her this year and just to sit with her and talk about her entire career and who some of her favorite and least favorite co-stars were, would be magical.

  27. Brett Doze says:

If I could interview one classic movie star, it would have to be Humphrey Bogart. He is one of my favorite actors and he was the centerpiece of my favorite movie, “Casablanca.” I think it would be interesting to see how he felt about classics such as “Casablanca” and “The Maltese Falcon” just after he appeared in them. I highly doubt he had any idea the immense influence they would have on the film medium.

  28. Katie McGaha says:

I would love to interview Jimmy Stewart! I’m only 19 and I have grown up watching Jimmy and I have adored him for quite some time! I have a fascination with his accent to be honest, and Its a Wonderful Life is my all time favorite movie! He seems like such a genuinely kind and caring person and I would just love to have a conversation with him about his life and how he ended up in Hollywood.
