  1. Tim says:

I love the theme song and have visited St. Louis many times. I have never seen the film!

However, I really want to win because my wife loves musicals and it is one of her favorites!

  2. Destiny L Drake says:

I’ve never seen this movie, and I think it would be a beautiful and wonderful Christmas movie to see with my mom.

  3. Liliana Maria Radwanski says:

This was the movie that introduced the Christmas Song,
Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
The dear moment that you always remember.
The Family thinks they are spending their last Christmas in St. Louis.
Tootie played by Margaret O’Brien goes out in the cold and breaks all the Snow People she and her sister’s created. Her older Sister played by Judy Garland brings her inside before she catches her death of cold. She explains to her how even though they were moving to New York, they would always be together. Judy is wearing a Beautiful Crimson red velvet dress. She sings, “Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas “ and dries her sister’s tears. It gets to you everytime.

The movie mentions how a World’s Fair came to St. Louis.
Also the Trolley Song was performed by Judy Garland.
Judy was outstanding in this Film.
This Film is a Timeless treasure . A Wonderful MGM Musical.
I would love 💕 to watch Judy on the big screen

  4. Mark PAGAN says:

This morning, as I was getting ready for work, I could not shake myself loose of an earworm: “Clang, clang, clang…”
Then your announcement tonight. Need I note anything further?

  5. Chase Ward says:

I have seen this movie many times. I love the sweetness of it; it is a wonderful portrayal of a loving family who take care of each other and sacrifice for each other. The music is wonderful. I lost my daughter 3 years ago, and her favorite Christmas song was Judy Garland singing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, so of course it was our favorite scene. I can’t wait to see it on the big screen. I just wish she could be with me.

I am so sorry for your lose, but am happy that this movie will bring back wonderful memories for you. The scene where Judy sings “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” breaks my heart every time. It’s such a heartwarming film. Good Luck 🙂

  6. Kari says:

I love this movie because it was one of the first classic movies I saw as a child. I love that it so beautifully represents every season. Each character is so unique and memorable, and the songs are perfect. I can’t wait to see it at the theater!

  7. Sara Stewart says:

I love this movie SO much. The family dynamics, the younger sisters getting themselves into trouble on Halloween, the music, and clothes. My favourite part is where Grandpa takes Ester to the Christmas ball and they dance around the Christmas tree and she comes out with Tom Drake instead of Grandpa. This is one of my go-to movies when I’m feeling nostalgic and I would love to see it on the big screen.

  8. Jeanne Marie Tokunaga says:

My family watches this every Christmas, and I have never seen it on the big screen. I can’t wait!

  9. Mikary says:

I have never seen “Meet Me in St. Louis,” either on the big screen or the small screen. But I know some of the songs. I’ve been hearing “The Trolley Song” on the satellite radio Broadway station, so I’ve become more familiar with the words. (I promise not to sing at the screening, tho!) I would love to get into the holiday mood by seeing this for the first time on the big screen!

I do not have a Twitter account (or it is private), so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

    Thanks!

  10. Ana Roland says:

What do I love most about “Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)?” EVERYTHING!
One of the greatest American technicolor movie musicals. The movie’s pleasures are in the turn-of-the-century period detail, the glorious songs, the loving nostalgic look of a by-gone innocent era leading up to the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair and the AMAZING perfect cast. The idyllic story shows the family’s hopes and dreams as they try to decide whether to uproot the family to New York. I just LOVE this movie so much.

  11. Chris Baer says:

I studied this film for my film class in college and instantly knew it was different than anything I’d seen in so many ways. The cinematography is brilliant, the colors lush and warm, the theme endearing and the construction and composition sublime. Then there’s the wondrous music and acting. And Judy, Judy, Judy! What’s NOT to love?

  12. Ashley says:

    Margaret O’Brien.

  13. Matt Gaulin says:

I’d love to see this, since it would be like going back in time to live through what it must have been like to see this when it was new.
I do not have a Twitter account (or it is private), so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

  14. julie moon says:

I love the theme, and it’s about family, and that they can be happy anywhere. Of course hearing Judy Garland sing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” brings me to tears every time! Beautiful holiday film.

  15. Rebecca H. says:

I would be SO happy to win tickets! Judy is my everything! I sung The Trolley Song at my senior recital in college. Meet Me in St. Louis is one of my favorite Judy movies. I was too sick to see The Wizard of Oz the beginning of this year so this will be my first time seeing Judy on the big screen. SO Excited!!
    Thank you :]

  16. M.T. Fisher says:

Of course the performances. And anytime you have Garland singing. But more than anything, the Americana. It’s what we love about the older films. The ‘prefectness’ of the past, and how it makes us long for an era we didn’t know.

I do not have a Twitter account (or it is private), so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

  17. Susan Ballard says:

What I, and I believe many of us, love about this film is it represents a loving, unified family that most of us only dream about. The depiction of a loving family warms my heart and leaves me with a feeling of contentment and joy every time I watch this classic, beautiful film.

I do not have a Twitter account, but would like to enter the contest. 💕

  18. Javier Valverde says:

What I love most about Meet Me in St. Louis is the beautiful singing and performance by Judy Garland. I also love the family atmosphere in the movie that Vincent Minnelli conveyed I the direction of the movie.

  19. Michelle says:

I have loved this movie ever since I was a little girl because it’s all about nostalgia – the family is so sad about leaving their home where they grew up and have happy memories, but at the end they realize that home is about being together. It’s Judy Garland at her most beautiful and most vulnerable – the Trolley Song, the Boy Next Door, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas are all iconic. I would LOVE the oppportunity to see it on the big screen!

  20. Kathy Thomas says:

I love the family and that the movie embraces the Holidays from Halloween on. I especially love Judy Garland’s performance and her singing, ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.”

  21. Lee Brock says:

Why I love this film: This movie is magical. It will always cheer me up. I love the fact that Judy resisted doing this film until she saw the daily footage to discover that director Vincent Minnelli had made her look more beautiful than she had ever felt she looked. And although the production was fraught with challenges the end result is a treasure.
One of my all-time favorite Judy songs, The Trolley Song is a favorite sing-along classic and can’t help but put a smile on anyone’s face. And my very favorite Christmas song Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas represents the theme of the entire film–that being together, with friends and family, from near or far, is the true meaning of Christmas, and that cherishing those relationships is the most important thing in life.

  22. Vicki Boston says:

A GOOD movie which is a classic.
And It would be made into a Stage Musical Classic too after the movie’s creation.

  23. Vicki Boston says:

Not only is MEET ME IN SAINT LOUIS a musical classic…. but it is ALSO a musical on stage.
It also produce such wonderful songs like THE TROLLEY SONG and the famous Christmas Classic HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS.

  24. Jayne Hague says:

I am a very big Judy Garland fan, however I’ve never seen her on the big screen. This movie happens to be my favorite. It’s Vincente Minnelli’s love song to Judy Garland because he was falling in love with her while making this movie. She never looked more beautiful than in this movie. This also is a love song to the family. We get to see this wonderful family for a whole year as they prepare for the St Louis World’s Fair. It makes you appreciate family life and The Wonder of that time period.

  25. Simoa says:

I love how sweet and utterly guileless this movie is; timeless and simple, warm and cozy. It’s impossible to be in a bad mood where this movie is concerned. And seeing Judy, along with Maggie O’Brien and Tom Drake, would be such a dream for me!

  26. Louis Gonzales says:

I love this movie because it reminds me of my mother and of the many good memories we have together.

  27. John Muller says:

Because it’s my 93-year-old Mom’s favorite movie and I want to take her to go see it.

  28. Erinn says:

I love this movie because it brings back good memories of watching it with my grandmother, who grew up in St. Louis. The movie is wonderful, but sharing it with someone you love makes it even better. And now that she’s passed away, I really treasure those times. I wish I could sit down and watch it with her again. I’d like to see it in theaters to share this beautiful movie with my husband and my Grandy in spirit.

  29. Annmarie Gatti says:

I am posting on behalf of Arielle…

The film is visually stunning, has beautiful music, and Judy Garland. Need I say more? I also love the character of Grandpa played by the wonderful Harry Davenport. He and Esther have a sweet relationship and I love watching their scenes together.

I do not have a Twitter account (or it is private), so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

  30. Nancy says:

My parents saw this movie on their first date. I have seen it several times on TV – would love to see it on the big screen.

  31. My grandmother introduced me to the movie, and it absolutely kickstarts my obsession with classic movies. We would watch Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Judy, all the classics together, but this was always the movie we came back to. Introducing me to these movies is really what ignited my passion for movies in general, and it’s because of this I did everything I could to get myself into the movie industry and to Hollywood, from our small town in the middle of nowhere, England. Every day I spend in Hollywood, I imagine how proud she would be that I got here – to the town that created all those movies we loved together. She passed away in 2010 so never got to see me make it here. I was the youngest person by about 30 years on the Warner Bros. Classic Movie Tour recently, and everyone else on the tour couldn’t believe how much classic movie trivia I knew. So Meet Me In St Louis is the movie that I always come back to because it truly started ALL of this – watching it with her literally changed my life. I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch it since she passed away, and I have never seen it on the big screen. This would be such an accumulation of things to win these tickets – watching our favorite movie, on the big screen, in Los Angeles. It would be incredible.

  32. Laurie Moulis says:

Oh, what don’t I like is more more the question. From Joan Carroll as Agnes, walking in from swimming, kicking off the “Meet me in St. Louis” song, to Harry Davenport, as lovely grandpa continuing to sing and kick up his heels – the the always remarkable Esther, played by the heavenly Judy Garland, sparkling throughout, and Lucille Bremer, Marjorie Mail and Mary Astor and Leon Ames! They presented such a lovely, warm and loyal family, all in anticipation of the St. Louis World’s Fair. This, to me, is a perfect film.

  33. jason f says:

I have never seen this film. Looks like it could be a classic for me to see. Reading most of the responses, it sounds like it hits peoples hearts

  34. Kunal says:

Never seen the movie, bust jus finished watching the Friendsgiving special and saw the trailer. Everything looked stunning in this movie, def would love to watch it for the first time on the big screen. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with the classics. Love Judy garland!

  35. Beth Watkins says:

I love the score, the music, Margaret O’Brien’s acting, the plot, the costumes – all of it. But I think the thing I like most about this movie is that my Silent Generation mother introduced me to it and it remained a favorite every time it was on TV.
