  1. Joan O'Malley says:

I was 10 when Rudolph first aired. I was mesmerized because it wasn’t a cartoon and it wasn’t puppets. I still watch it to this day.

  2. bill norris says:

Gathering with my family in the living room on piles of blankets on the floor just being intranced by the story and art.

  3. Billy Slobin says:

I remember being 5 or 6 years old and being so excited for “Rudolph” to come on!
There were no VCR’s DVD’s or DVR’s so it was quite a big event to get to see Rudolph, Yukon Cornelius, Hermy, Clarice and the mean Coach once a year. My brother Bobby (2 years younger) and were out of our minds on the day of the show. This had to be 1967 and 47 years later him and I both remember watching the show in the den of our home back then.
Needless to say both of us own the DVD and have played it for our kids their whole lives and even now with them in their late teens and early twenties it is still mandatory viewing at Christmastime in both our houses!

    • Annmarie Gatti says:

I know exactly what you mean! It was always an event for us too, and I always looked forward to seeing Rudolph… so many fond memories…

  4. I have to answer the question you little bit of a roundabout way… While I watched them as a child, they weren’t my absolute favorites. But now I show them to all My children and they absolutely love them! They look forward to them every year!

  5. I remember crying when I first saw Frosty and he melted. My mom had to tell me to keep watching.

  6. Victoria Rendon says:

I just remember ever since I was little me and my mom would always watch these Christmas specials especially when we would put up the Christmas decorations.

  7. Jonathan says:

We used to watch these every time they came on TV. It went along with our Muppet Christmas movie tradition.

  8. Sanjanaa says:

I’m 24, and for as long as I can remember, I have forced my family to watch these. They must be getting tired of them by now, but I’m not! I love them! I love every holiday movie I’ve ever seen, and these along with a couple others (White Christmas, the Grich, the Muppets, ELF) I will continue to watch forever. I remember first watching Frosty and Rudolph with my parents and grandparents when I was very young, and I found them enchanting. They were the first holiday movies I had ever seen, and they were unforgettable.

  9. Dorothy Winnett says:

My fondest memory was, that there really was a Magical North Pole, were Rudolph, Frosty, Santa Claus & so many others were & I would be whisked away to join them for the most Holly, Jolly Christmas ever.

  10. Becky Ruiz says:

I loved watching these two shows when I was a child. I still get excited about watching them today. Great idea! Thanks for doing this.

  11. Michele Robertson says:

Gee, CMH, you certainly know how to tug at the ol’ heartstrings! Both Frosty and Rudolph were always two of my favorite stop motion animated tv specials. But, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer is nearer to my heart because my siblings and I loved Hermey and we all wanted to ‘be’ him. We’d all yell and scream who loved him more while munching on pop-tarts and cracker jack. In the late 60’s when I was 8yo, my youngest brother, David, was 5-1/2. To keep him quiet and still(he loved to stand right in front of the tv set and we couldn’t see a thing!), I ‘crowned’ him the king of the elves and announced that he would be Hermey forever if he’d have a seat so that we could watch all the Christmas specials. He didn’t forget that! Each year until he was about 15 he would jokingly laugh with us and proudly announce that he was Hermey, “cuz my sister said so!” And we’d all agree that he was the best Hermey in the whole, wide world. Then we’d all snuggle and giggle while watching Rudolph, Hermey and the others as if it wasn’t the ‘gazillionith’ time! I can’t wait to watch them all with my grandchildren!

  12. KittyPride says:

I loved watching Frosty the Snowman and singing along with the song and hating the magician for taking the hat, greedy baddie, hiss

  13. Lori @chezsister says:

I remember watching Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer for the first time when I was 5 years old. I was terrified that Santa was not going to get his presents delivered in time for Christmas!

  14. Dayna says:

I remember my sister and I excitedly watching the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, as we sat on the floor in front of the TV , drinking hot chocolate, with the Christmas Tree lights twinkling in the room. It was something we looked forward to every year (and still do as grownups)
