Kino Lorber Classic Movie DVD and Blu-Ray Giveaway!
Qualifying Entry Task for
Facebook/Blog Contest

Okay, now it’s time for the Facebook/Blog version of our Kino Lorber Classic Movie Giveaway contest! This time we’ll be giving away TWO Classic Movie DVDs/Blu-Rays, courtesy of  Kino Lorber, from today through December 26. And don’t forget, we’re also giving away TEN MORE  Classic Movie DVDs/Blu-Rays via Twitter this month as well, so please feel free to enter that contest too

And, now for the details…

In order to qualify to win one of these prizes via this Facebook/Blog contest giveaway, you must complete the below entry task by Saturday, December 26 at 8PM EST. However, the sooner you enter, the better chance you have of winning, because we will pick a winner on two different days within the contest period, via random drawings, as listed below… So if you don’t win the prize drawing on Dec 12, you will still be eligible to win the next prize drawing on Dec 26.

  • December 12: One Winner
  • December 26: One Winner

We will announce the winner(s) on Facebook and this Blog the day after each winner is picked (for example, we will announce the first winner on Sunday Dec 13 here on this blog and on Facebook).

If you’re also on Twitter, please feel free to visit us at  @ClassicMovieHub for additional giveaways — because we’ll be giving away TEN MORE Kino Lorber DVDs/Blu-Rays there as well! (Click here for details.)

What can you win? Well, this time we’ll be doing things a little differently… This time, we’ll ask each winner to pick their preferred prize (and back-up prize, just in case), and then we’ll just cross the ‘taken’ prizes off the list as we go (tracking list is here)… the winners will also be able to choose whether they want a DVD or a Blu-Ray for their selected prize.

Here are the titles up for grabs (photos below): At War with the Army, Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Diary of a Lost Girl, Faust, The Front Page, Marty, The Mask, Metropolis, Nosferatu, The Phantom of the Opera, The Russians are Coming the Russians are Coming and Witness for the Prosecution. (For movie descriptions click here)

33 Responses to Kino Lorber Classic Movie DVD and Blu-Ray Giveaway (Facebook Giveaway thru December 26)

  1. Ashley Hinz says:

Warner Archive DVD’s and Universal Vault DVD’s.

  2. Dorothy Winnett says:

Metropolis, Gone With the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, Gun Crazy, Logan’s Run. ♥

  3. Garrett Solomon says:

If I were asked what Blu-ray I wanted the most for the holidays, I’d have no trouble in saying that I would immediately ask for Kino Lorber’s massive Buster Keaton Blu-ray boxset. My reason? I have never seen any Buster Keaton film before and all my attempts to do so in theaters have been thwarted by me being scheduled to work that day.

  4. Chris Teel says:

IF? You mean I’m not already supposed to have a Santa list? Well, for the sake of argument, IF I was going to make one, it would include:

Key Largo, The African Queen, The Blue Dahlia, The Mummy, The Petrified Forest, Mildred Pierce, The Postman Always Rings Twice.

You know, this could go on, and on…

  5. Lundon says:

Citizen Kane, The Shawshank Redemption, and Vertigo

  6. Mario Elizondo says:

If I was to ask Santa for some DVD’s, first I would pick some classics. To start with, I would label my classic list from 1930 to 1990, why? , because that’s when the best movies where filmed, with no so much technology involved, great acting, direction, plots, (gee it’s great to see a movie with no cell phones use). Then, I’d pick 2 from each decade to make 12 movies, which be:

    1)Grand Hotel
    2)Gone with the wind
    3)Casablanca
    4)The lost weekend
    5)Marty
    6)On the waterfront
    7)Psycho
    8)To kill a mockingbird
    9)Network
    10)One flew over cuckoos nest
    11)Arthur
    12)Less than zero

    Thank you

    • Annmarie Gatti says:

These are great choices! And I so agree about the quality of these classics, when the script, acting and direction was everything!

  7. Emily Graziano says:

Dear Santa, this yeat my wishlist is as follows: The criterion blu ray of The 39 steps, The lady from Shanghai, I’m no angel, Gun Crazy, meet me in st louis, and stalag 17.

    • Annmarie Gatti says:

Great choices! Meet Me in St. Louis is one of my all time favorite films… Get teary eyed every time Judy Garland sings Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas 🙂

  9. Kathi Papaleo says:

The African Queen, The Maltese Falcon, 1941, The Last Temptation of Christ, and The Best Years of Our Lives Thanks in advance, Santa!

  10. To Be Or Not To Be 1942; Artists and Models; The Horn Blows at Midnight

  11. Shawn D Moore says:

There are quite a few Kino titles I already have, but of those I don’t have yet but want, it would include The Phantom of the Opera on blue-ray and the three Lugosi films they have released within the past year or so. And being a Ford fan, The Hurricane would be fun.

  12. Joan O'Malley says:

The Awful Truth, Meet John Doe and Now Voyager would be perfect in my Christmas stocking!

  13. John Beaird says:

A surprisingly difficult question to answer one you actually think about it. Even for a movie lover. But if I had to pick I’d go anything Billy Wilder or Orson Welles. Metropolis Is also a safe bet. But on the top of list would have to be Citizen Kane and The Wild Bunch.

  14. Liz says:

Anything from Warner Archive and Kino! But I would really like the 1939 Blu Ray set!

  15. Salvador C. says:

Here are the movies I would ask Santa for:
The Bridge on the River Kwai
    Doctor Zhivago
    North by Northwest
    Patton
    Gone With The Wind
    Citizen Kane
    The Third Man
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
    Sunset Boulevard
    My Fair Lady

    • Annmarie Gatti says:

Nice list! Some of my favorite movies are there… Just watched Sunset Blvd again last night… never gets old…

  16. Teresa C. says:

    I would ask Santa for:
    Gone With The Wind
    The Third Man
    Stagecoach
    Lawrence of Arabia
    The Ten Commandments
    Ben-Hur
    Any Universal Monster movie
    The Red Shoes
    The Phantom Carriage
    King Kong
    On The Waterfront
