  1. Vickie says:

I love all Debbie Reynolds movies so to pick just one is difficult. I think the first one I saw her in when I was young that I remember was Tammy and the Bachelor and I’ve loved her ever since!

  2. Carl says:

My favorite Debbie Reynolds movie is also one of her most popular, Singin’ in the Rain. I really like the chemistry she has with her two co-stars and the tremendous optimism of the movie itself. Thanks for the chance to win this book.

  3. Ashley Hinz says:

This will sound like an echo, but my experience with Tammy and the Bachelor was much the same as Vickie’s. I was probably 7 when I first saw it, possibly younger. There are very few of her movies I haven’t seen. It would have to be a tie between My Six Loves and this one. My Six Loves, as memory serves me, my mother taped late one night off of local tv when my cousin/brother was with me. I was around 6, and he was around 9.

  4. Chris Teel says:

The Gazebo with Glenn Ford. He is a basket case through the whole film and she plays off of him perfectly.

  6. Sara Stewart says:

I absolutely love Susan Slept Here, with Dick Powell. It’s a tradition to watch it every Christmas because they show it on AMC.

  7. Louise Stunkard says:

Loved Debbie Reynolds in Unsinkable Molly Brown. What a spirited and feisty dame! So loveable and cute. Loved the work she did for years to try and preserve Hollywood memorabilia! What a tragedy to lose any of the history of old Hollywood. She was everyone’s favorite sweetheart. She also gave the world our favorite Princess!

  8. Darlene Dayle says:

Although I love all her films, she was hilarious as Beatrice in MOTHER, and a fine foil for Albert Brooks.

  9. I’ve narrowed it down between Singing in the Rain and The Unsinkable Molly Brown and it’s a difficult choice…but I’ll choose Singing in the Rain because it was my first introduction of seeing Debbie Reynolds on film. And what a film to showcase every aspect of Reynold’s talent. It’s a film you can sit back and watch for its obvious charm as a musical, replete with compelling storyline, singing, and dancing, but whenever I watch this film, I can see Reynold’s determination and commitment to her role, and I am amazed by the effortlessness she displays in a part that was obviously a lot of very hard work. The dance numbers look like some of the most difficult choreography in cinematic film and she performed them with as much skill and verve as her dance partner, Gene Kelly. Most amazing, though, is that Reynold’s wasn’t a dancer when she began shooting this film. Supposedly, Gene Kelly criticized her lack of dance experience and his slight brought Reynold’s to tears. Fred Astaire heard Debbie sobbing under a piano in the studio one day and, after hearing her story, took her under his wing, training her in the art of dance. Now, I can’t image any other actress playing the part of Kathy Seldon but Debbie Reynolds.

  10. Casey Guise says:

One of my favorite films of Debbie Reynolds is Unsinkable Molly Brown! I was just telling friends about this film tonight. It’s a favorite because Debbie owns the role so well and gets to carry a highly produced film. It’s also a “costume film,” which is so appropriate because of her famous costume collecting.

  11. Elaine Denton says:

Singing in the Rain. It had a very special place in my heart because it’s the first classic movie my children loved. They would play it over and over and then over again. The oldest is now 30 and they all have a vast knowledge of classic movies all because they loved ‘Singing in the Rain’ first.

  12. Singin’ In The Rain–What’s not to love about that!!??

  13. Rhonda says:

Singing in the Rain a true classic

  14. Gina N. says:

One of my favorite movies with Debbie Reynolds, and I have many, is “Three Little Words”. Her role was extremely small and her voice was dubbed over, but I think she is adorable in this very short scene where she sings, “I Wanna Be Loved By You”. I too am a big fan of her in the movie, “Singin’ In The Rain”. Her performance, dance routines and singing are remarkable. She always made it look so easy. My favorite part of the movie is the couch scene with Debbie Reynolds, Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor, singing “Good Morning”. She proved she could hold her own next to two dance greats! Her singing is superb. Debbie Reynolds is truly amazing!

    • Annmarie Gatti says:

Hi Gina, I can’t seem to find your tweet. Could you please let me know if you in fact tweeted. And/or could you retweet the message so that I can officially enter you? Thanks so much!

  15. Since she was in one of the greatest films ever made, that would be the obvious choice. But just to keep the discussion going, I’ll mention “The Gazebo.”. It’s a really clever mystery with Glenn Ford.
