  1. Kalina says:

Robert Mitchum (My Forbidden Past) because I love his film noir and anti-hero style. His voice and eyes are captivating. He’s always been a favorite to watch.

Congratulations on winning Ava Gardner: The Secret Conversations! I just DM’d you via twitter, if you don’t receive it, please let me know. Thanks so much for entering!

  2. Joan O'Malley says:

Clark Gable as her leading man in Mogambo. Why, because he’s Clark Gable!

  3. I choose Kirk Douglas in “Seven Days in May.” It is a transitional role for her, from young sexy leading lady to mature intelligent actress. And Kirk Douglas matches her strength and intensity.

  4. I choose Kirk Douglas in “Seven Days in May.” He matches her intelligence and intensity and what proved to be a transitional role for Ava Gardner. No longer was she the sexy young leading lady; she was maturing into a mature and dynamic supporting actress.

Hi Barry, are you not ‘officially’ entering the contest? I can’t count your entry unless you complete the entry task with the tweet. Either way is a-okay with me, but want to make sure you don’t miss out if you wanted to enter. 🙂

  5. Nadia says:

Gregory Peck because he was also in Roman Holiday and that is one of my favorite movies of all time ❤️

  6. Carl says:

I’d pick Humphrey Bogart myself. I enjoyed his work in so many films and he actually seemed like a sort of unlikely movie star. Thanks for the chance to win this great-looking book.

  7. Jon Lusty says:

I pick George C. Scott for the sole reason of remembering their roles as a young child seeing The Bible: In The Beginning. That plus it struck me as a likely unusual choice. 🙂

    • Annmarie Gatti says:

Wow. Very interesting choice. I haven’t seen that film yet…

    • Annmarie Gatti says:

So sorry that you didn’t win this time, but please try again. I’ll be giving away one more copy. I’ll be posting the entry task on this blog later tonight 🙂

  8. Jilly says:

Burt Lancaster. Because noir. 2nd pick would be George Raft.

  9. Blake says:

My favorite Leading Man of Ava’s would be Humphrey Bogart. Humphrey is one of my favorite actors. The movie they starred in, The Barefoot Contessa, was very interesting and had a shocking and sad ending. I would love the read that book!

  10. Sheila says:

I tried posting earlier and it didn’t go through. I pick Richard Burton in The Night of the Iguana. I know he and Deborah Kerr really had the two major roles but his interaction with Ava was just as important to the story. His scenes with Ava were both sad and infuriating to me. (Tennessee Williams was such a gifted man.)

I suppose if I had to pick another it would be Humphrey Bogart. I love any of his films though. =-)
