  1. Cece says:

Just entered to win the Best Classics Ever Annual Subscription #Streaming #Giveaway courtesy of @BestClassicsEvr and @ClassicMovieHub – #CMHContest– you can #EnterToWin too here!
I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

What I love most about classic films and tv shows is the way they tell unique stories. It seems to me they had more freedom or creativity, and thus were able to tell stories you couldn’t tell nowadays!

  2. James Herington says:

I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message. The reason I enjoy classic movies and television shows so much is that there is no language, violence, drug use, etc. that they have in todays entertainment. Also, a sneak peek into another era. And you can see how not only cinema changed with acting methods, sound, and effects, but also how society changed in terms of style, themes, entertainment, and even overall cultural values

  3. Paul McClellan says:

I love the quality of many old classic movies. The best movies are still relevant, many years after they were made. I love the screwball comedies, and how they were able to make them LOL without resorting to crude language.

I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

  4. I love how classic film and tv immerses me into an earlier (nostalgic) era while also often remaining relevant to today.

I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

  5. Liliana Maria Radwanski says:

What I Love Most on Classic Films and TV shows is that, you see Actors in many Roles. For Example ,Hope Lange was a Film Actress’s First in movies such as Peyton Place and Best if Everything. Later in the 1960’s, she Starred along Edward Mulhare in the Updated Version of The a film Classic, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir! Because of the Show, I watched Hope’s other work as well as The Original Classic Film of Ghost and Mrs. Muir starring Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison.
Another Example , The Love Boat featured many stars from
Hollywood’s Golden Age. From these appearances, I watched their classic films and came to Love them very much.
I would love to have a subscription being I have a Firestick so , I would have an extra place besides TCM, Antenna TV , and Me TV for my films and Classic Series

  6. Billy Slobin says:

My answer is this… I love everything. The nostalgia…being taken back to a simpler time. Each classic show or film reminds me of a place, person or time in life. I ONLY watch TCM, METV, ANTENNATV, COZITV, MOVIESTVNETWORK, FETV and so on.
They make nothing these days that could ever make me want to spend time away from my core shows and films!

  7. Shawn D Moore says:

Hard to pick a single ‘love most’ thing about classic movies/TV, but I will say the warmth of familiarity.
Even with a new-to-me show, I typically will be familiar with a performer, director, producer, cinematographer, etc, or at least the genre, to relate it to previously viewed (and likely enjoyed) show – whether it is a feature, a short, or a TV show.

  8. Jamie S says:

I love the acting, the storylines, the outfits, the dancing, the singing, the wholesomeness. I feel like they take me away to a different time that was more peaceful. I have actors and actresses I love from older eras and watch their movies over and over again. I especially love the musicals. They don’t make them like that anymore. The new ones always have to be “modernized”. Why mess with the classics? This streaming channel sounds like a great idea for those who love classic movies and tv.
I do not have a twitter account so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

  9. LUIS V.CO says:

I do not have a Twitter account so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message. the reason I love those classic movies and tv shows is because I grew up watching those wholesome and childfriendly films. the acting is perfect and the actors/actresses so handsome and beautiful. moreover the story is good and that we learn a lesson from it.

    • Annmarie Gatti says:

Hi Luis, you are one of our winners, but I tried to send you an email and it bounced back to me. Could you please let me know how best to contact you? Thanks!

  10. Jessica Lynch says:

I love watching the same classic films with my kids that I used to watch with my parents many years ago. I also live the feeling of being taken back to a completely different era.

I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

  11. Michele R. says:

Classic movies and television tend to evoke nostalgia in this old girl and that makes me feel good all over. Like milk even the anticipation of seeing an old favorite does a body good! Oh to travel to another time and space if only for an hour or two from the comfort of home and easy chair where I laugh, I cry, I cringe, I hold my breath, I yell at the characters, sing & dance with them. And it doesn’t matter if it’s the first time or fifty-first time I’ve watched, for me, tv and movie classics always make the day just that much brighter.

  12. Sandra O’Reilly says:

Classic movies and TV shows are great. Watching any of them makes me feel like I am with old friends. The sort of friends u know forever but still learn new things. That’s because every time I watch an “old chestnut” I usually pick up a new idea or learn something new about what I’m watching. And the explanations before the movie enhance the entire experience .

  13. Karla Krakes says:

I have a Twitter account, but am technically inept. Classic movies and T.V. remind me of my childhood, sitting there for the Saturday Movie. The Marx Brothers in “The Cocoanuts” made me laugh till I hurt! W.C. Fields. Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn in “Bringing Up Baby”. “I Love Lucy” re-runs were Must See T V…. and I can quote a lot of dialogue from it! “Bewitched” was a favorite…and years later, when I helped Liz Montgomery shop where I was was working, I seriously pinched myself to see my childhood idol giggling with me! Classic movies and T.V. can be watched over and over because they were so well done… and bring back happy memories.

  14. Jack Cibrian says:

This is a difficult question to answer since there are so many types of classic films. Some random answers: I love black and white films’ use of lighting and shadow. Classic films weren’t trying to create “tentpole” franchises. The stories were generally more important than the effects. There are so many great small films that would not be told today because they wouldn’t sell to a worldwide market.

  15. Sara Stewart says:

I love classic movies for several reasons. One, it was actually an art – from cinematography to music, wardrobe to choreography, black and white to colour transition. Actors were REAL people who appreciated (or at least seemed to) their fans, they weren’t “celebrities” they were real stars. While some of the movies are cringe-worthy because they had white actors portraying minorities, I think it’s something we can learn from, something that we have to accept or all of the courage and sacrifices people like Hattie McDaniel made, are for nothing.

I love classic television for the same reasons. I watch more reruns of old television shows more than any new ones. I Love Lucy is a favourite, not just because it’s an amazing show, but because it was one of the shows that could make my dad laugh, and it was always on, not matter where we lived. I lost him when I was 9 and every year on his birthday and father’s day, I turn Lucy on and spend the entire day watching and eating out favourite snacks. Classic television is happy memories.

  16. Teresa M. says:

I don’t know if I can explain why I love Classic Movies and TV Shows. They remind me of being young and watching movies with my Granny. She loved westerns the most because she loved hearing the sound of horses running. When I watch the classics, I remember that feeling of being with her. I love just about every genre of movie with Bogart holding a special place.

  17. Steve D says:

I’ve always loved classic movies because they can transport me to another time and place. Watching a classic film or TV show, I can experience the music, decor, fashion and social norms of any era.

  18. Stephanie Gee says:

I LOVE classic movies because they take me out of myself and into another way of looking at things. History is more than just words in books. It’s the way things were perceived and interpreted, then and now.

  19. Michelle says:

I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

    QUESTION:
What I love most about Classic Movies and TV Shows are the Chemistry between the actors, and the Excellent scripts made Pre-Code and after it.

  20. Stephanie E. says:

I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

What I love most about classic movies and classic television shows is their beauty—specifically, their transcendence of time; their “classicness” is what makes me to feel at home in a kind of queer, quaint way, for the representation from the past produces nostalgia for even the present, and I then understand that even now is a fleeting moment that shall soon pass; rather, a paradoxical statement may more definitely express my sentiment—that now was the future.

  21. Juan Otero says:

I think the one thing I love most about classic movies would have to be the memories with my uncle. He introduced me to classics movies, when we watched “The Thing” and “King Kong” one weekend while visiting (we lived about 5 hours away). From then on, I’d watch movies on my own, and whenever we’d meet up, we’d talk about movies and then watch some! He passed away August 2019 from a brain tumor, but I still love watching classic films because they remind me of him. And I’d like to think that he’s up there watching classic movies himself, waiting for me to get there and talk some more about them.

  22. Bob says:

What I love most about Classic Movies and TV shows …

For one thing, they bring me back to the days/years when I was growing up.

The other thing is that as our world gets more complicated and less innocent every year it exists, I’m grateful for how great and entertaining these films and shows were and still are, without having to be vulgar. They have class (both classic movies and TV shows)!

(I hate to say it, but I’d like to pass on entering the giveaway. I have a large blu-ray collection as it is, which I’ll never get through in my lifetime. I’ll still send the Tweet out so you get more exposure).

  23. Jay Pep says:

I love old movies and TV shows (and radio shows) because they are classy. Even the movies about ‘unclassy’ subjects are still classy. Don’t get me wrong. I love a dirty joke, but it’s nice to watch something that is family friendly without being saccharine sweet.

  24. Robin Grenadier says:

I have a Twitter account. What I love most about classic movies is the screenwriting. Many of the greatest writers of the 20th Century wrote film scripts. I studied film history in college and you can almost tell what is happening in events of the day via the dialogue of a film. One example? The image you have on your website should tell you precisely what I mean. “My Man Godfrey.” If we do not learn lessons from the past, we are doomed to repeat it. (Thucydides). Godfrey was living in a “Hooverville.” We are soon headed for Trumplands dotting our landscape.

  25. Migdalia Pizarro says:

What I love most about Classic Movies and TV Shows is the fact that they give me a sense of nostalgia. I remember watching some of the classic movies and shows with my dad when I was a little girl. I lost him many decades ago but when I see them it’s like having him next sitting next to me again. The women were so elegant and classy, and the men were gentlemen. Acting was really acting, it was a craft without the use of technnology. And you know you were getting quality. How do you know? Because they are still around for us and generations to enjoy.

  27. Jodi says:

I love classic voices and styles. “We had faces and voices then.”. Truly, though, I love everything about them.

  28. Sabrina Race says:

What I love most about classic movies (outside of the fantastic clothing), is the elegant dialogue. The delivery, the vocabulary, their words had so much meaning behind them and carried great emotion! There was just such class in early film that isn’t portrayed in the same manner today.

I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

  29. For better or worse, what I love most about Classic Movies and TV Shows is how they serve as a mirror to American beliefs, values, hopes, and attitudes of their times. I was around for some of it, so it’s an opportunity to see what I missed that happened before. It’s a great measure of change. Also, it’s a way to spot future stars in roles they played when they were younger and just starting out, like Robert Redford on Perry Mason, and Jodie Foster on Gunsmoke. And on the flipside, it’s a way to see the performances of actors who stood out then — you can watch and find out why. There’s now nearly a century of American film and television media and popular culture, and channels like this are the archival record.

  30. Lori Burchfield says:

Classic movies have a way of transporting you to a time where things weren’t as complicated by all the technology of today. The fast, give it to me now feeling you get with today’s world and movies. Classics are great at showing history and for being a good foundation upon which to learn. I love the older styles of filming, lighting, makeup, and wardrobe.

  31. Leila says:

I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

The main thing I love about Classic Movies and TV Shows is the fashion and overall nostalgia!

  32. Laurie says:

What I love most about about Classic Movies and TV Shows is that I can watch them with my family without hearing vulgar language & words I didn’t want my sons to hear in our home. (I know we can’t help what they hear outside of it, but at least I know they won’t hear it here at home 😉
There are so many movies we watch over and over again. I love watching the Marx Brothers movies with my sons, and remember how fun they were to watch with my Dad. They’ve even had to watch the Gidget series of films with me! ‘) The Christmas movies are the best! We love when they bring them back to the theaters for Fathom Events.
The TV shows are great for the same reasons. We are currently enjoying My Three Sons and Green Acres. We’ve seen some Love American Style episodes on YouTube and I love seeing the familiar faces from the old days. The humor is timeless, and I love the fashion! (Especially Lisa Douglas on Green Acres…dressed to the nines in that dumpy house…:)
The classics are classic for a good reason!

  33. Wendy says:

What isn’t there to love when it comes to the classics?
They truly do not make ‘em like they did in the 30’s & 40’s.
No anxiety bout blasphemy, vulgarity, nudity, sex on the screen, need I go on?

  34. Alicia B says:

I simply love them. I started watching them with my mom when I was in my late teens. The first movie she had me watch was Mildred Pierce…i was hooked. Norma Shear, Barbara Stanwick, Rosalind Russell, Grant, Hudson, Astair…i could go on and on because I simply love them. I even prefer older sitcoms like That Girl and I Love Lucy, so much better than what is out today. I cut the cable cord a few years ago because of it. Now, my fav evening is Saturday nights on PBS, they show a classic movie.

  35. Lori K says:

Escapism at it’s best. Although it represented a reality that was pure fiction, I grew up idolizing the “simpler times”. The clothes, the glamour, the stories. Whether I was watching Perry Mason on a Saturday morning, or a Godzilla marathon on a Tuesday, anything to take me away from the real world. Even if just for a few hours.

Classic movies and TV even led me to enjoy some of the same films and shows on classic radio programming. It’s a little weird hearing William Conrad as Marshall Dillon, but hey, it works.

  36. Brad Harju says:

I like classic movies and television because they usually are less violent and classy. There is so much content from classic movies and television that a person could watch a lot of material and never run out of shows.

  37. Kari says:

I love classic movies because they are so much more relaxing and enjoyable than most contemporary movies. The stories are engaging, and honestly I think more of the classics appeal to female viewers than modern movies. They do to me anyway! Actors of the classic era had true talent and class. I love leaving the stress of the day behind and getting lost in the word of black and white.

I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message.

  38. Dani LaBree says:

What I love most about classic movies and television is that they are what all motion picture entertainment is based on. Spielberg, Tim Burton, Scorsese, Tarantino, David Fincher, and others would not be creating the productions they’ve gifted us with without there being a Hitchcock, Kurosawa, Orson Welles, Frank Capra, Billy Wilder, and so on. Actors, producers, writers, directors, composers, etc all learn and are inspired by their predecessors. Whether it is a remake, a homage, or simply sampling from a prior classic film, Hollywood today is what it is because classic movies and television were made.

  39. Joel Morris Woodrum says:

What do I like about classic movies? The stories are great, the actors were at the top of the studio system, the directors were king. Think about stories like Stagecoach, The Public Enemy, Little Caesar, How Green Was My Valley, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Gone With The Wind – and on and on. Great Universal horror, followed by Hammer horror, I loved them all. I love the fact that I often still see great pictures for the first time, which is awesome. I love the classic movies, I enjoy much of classic TV and hope we get more and more channels with this.

  40. Barbara Krost says:

Classic movies are great because there is a story line, no gore, no sex. You have to use your brain. And more importantly, the people in them actually know how to act.
I do not have a Twitter account, so I am posting here to enter but cannot tweet the message

  41. Paul F Kartcheske says:

Honestly for me it is seeing what film techniques have been used and reused from the beginning… how film structure, camera angles, lighting techniques, the cinematic eye all of this from the early days of film making continues today… I also like looking for the change reel dots, reminds me of running two projector with a “zipper” switch…

I love classic movies. I watch them before anything else. If I can’t find one, I don’t watch films at all. All the filthy language and sex makes me sick. My how the world has changed. Thank you Classic Movie Hub for keeping the oldies alive. Much love🙏♥️

The best feature of classic movies is the manner in which they portray life with incredible originality with the minimal use of background audios or sophisticated graphics. The pattern of creating intriguing sequences with pin drop silences and close shots with a lively compostion in the background gives you an incredible screen experience which is seldom forgotten.

  44. Bob Stein says:

Classic Movie live forever. The actors, directors, costume designers and of course the script writers may have never thought their work was eternal but such great talent insured it as such. We are so lucky to have such a massive volume of work that encompasses all emotions and passions.

  45. Amanda Frank says:

I love the creativity and at times simplicity they have. They are just a treat to watch

  47. Tricia Stevenson says:

What’s not to love?! The writing is sharp, clever, and doesn’t talk down to the viewer.
The characters are stylish – I love seeing the vintage wardrobes – whether they’re gorgeous or make me chuckle at how dated an outfit seems. The romances are never vulgar and lewd (unlike modern entertainment do often). Not least of all – watching a classic usually brings back great memories of the first time I saw it!

  48. Marcia McMahon says:

Ever since I was a little girl watching our black and white TV that only received 3 channels (1 when the leaves were on the trees ;-)…I’ve loved watching “old movies”. Classic movie have actors that were real actors, honing their craft and you feel transported to a different place and time with each one and I don’t feel like I have to cringe when I’m watching them.
