Legendary character actress, ZaSu Pitts, was born Eliza Susan Pitts on Jan 3, 1894 in Parsons, KS. Pitts died at the age of 69 on Jun 7, 1963 in Hollywood, CA and was laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA.

MINI BIO:

ZaSu Pitts was a 'bird-like' American actress with thin upper lips and large, darting eyes. At first she played vulnerable roles, most notably in Von Stroheim's "Greed", then later took to comedy with various partners in early sound two-reelers, then played equally vulnerable and spinsterish character parts.

HONORS and AWARDS:

She was honored with one star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Motion Pictures. In addition, Pitts was immortalized on a US postal stamp in 1994. Pitts was never nominated for an Academy Award.
