Kurt Kasznar Overview:

Character actor, Kurt Kasznar, was born Kurt Serwicher on Aug 13, 1913 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary (now Austria). Kasznar died at the age of 66 on Aug 6, 1979 in Santa Monica, CA .

Kurt Kasznar was a plumpish Austrian-born actor with strikingly dark hair and eyes. He was around the Hollywood (mostly MGM) scene quite a bit in the 1950s, following long stage experience in Europe and, later (from 1936) in America. He ambled amiably through a succession of 'sub-S.Z. Sakall' rolls in musicals, comedies and adventures, providing some attractively fractured English. He was married to actress Leora Dana (second of two wives) from 1950-1958 (divorce).

Zucco: There's nothing so offensive as a prudish pirate.

Baron Sergei Ivanoff: [Clapping sarcastically] Congratulations, Sir Arthur! It seems the British have won another bloodless victory!
US Minister Maxwell: I take it you have now unanimously decided to stay.
Baron Sergei Ivanoff: I shall report in my diary the first vote was nine-to-one, and that in a... friendly spirit it was then decided to make the decision unanimous.
