Character actor, John Abbott, was born John Albert Chamberlain Kefford on Jun 5, 1905 in London, UK. Abbott appeared in over 150 film and TV roles. His best known films include Mrs. Miniver, Gigi, Saratoga Trunk, The Woman in White, and The Jungle Book. Abbott died at the age of 91 on May 24, 1996 in Los Angeles, CA .

MINI BIO:

John Abbott began his career as a commercial artist, then switched to acting and appeared on the London stage before going permanently to America. With his disheveled appearance, wide-open eyes and drooping lower lip, he played a variety of eccentric character roles in Hollywood from 1941. He was memorable in Jane Eyre and The Woman in White, and had a leading role in one film: London Blackout Murders.
