Gloria Holden was an austere and rather sinister-looking English actress who made an enormous impact in 1936 in the title role of "Dracula's Daughter", then waited for offers of other leading roles that never materialized. She played smaller parts from the late 1930s, often proving a formidable adversary for the leading lady.
