David Lodge Overview:

Character actor, David Lodge, was born David William Frederick Lodge on Aug 19, 1921 in Kent, England. Lodge died at the age of 82 on Oct 18, 2003 in London, England .

David Lodge was a tough-looking, well-built British actor with dark, wavy hair whose parts as aggressive Londoners were usually enlivened with humor. After varied experience in Gang Shows, a circus and music hall, he moved into film character roles, and following an apprenticeship as tough, back-street types, soon showed a penchant for comedy, making notable contributions to several Peter Sellers films. Broader comedy roles in later days were on the whole, less successful but he remained busy and proved a prodigious worker for charity.
