MINI BIO:

Talented, aggressive British leading character actor with set expression and tightly curled dark hair. Equally adept at harassed fathers, loyal friends, ruthless gangsters, or professional men, he seemed to have a go at almost everything at one time or another. Born in Northern Ireland, Blakely did not make his debut on stage until he was 27; but his abrasive approach soon made him a leading figure in the London theatre world and, despite a number of sterling film performances, he remained best known in that medium. Died from leukemia.
