Charles Tyner Overview:

Character actor, Charles Tyner, was born on Jun 8, 1925 in Danville, VA. As of December 2023, Charles Tyner was 98 years old.

No doubt he has a full set of molars and wouldn't hurt a fly but this dark, taciturn countrified American actor looked toothless and dangerous. With his familiar big black floppy hat, unkempt clothes and wad of chewing tobacco, he was just as likely to shoot the hero (or worse) before asking questions. Brought by Paul Newman from Broadway for a typically sadistic role, in Cool Hand Luke, he was less effective outside this image, and has been mainly back in the theatre since 1977.
