Considered for the role of "Melanie Hamilton" in David O. Selznick's Gone with the Wind (1939). The role eventually went to Olivia de Havilland.

Following her self-imposed retirement from films in the late 30s, she signed, to the surprise of many, with Paramount Pictures in the mid-1940s but no work ever derived from it.
