MINI BIO:
A British-born Wallace Beery. A great cheerful hulk of a man with tousled hair, McLaglen was a soldier, farmer, prospector, boxer (his battered features testified to that) and vaudeville performer before coming to the British cinema and quickly becoming popular by riding roughshod through action roles. Went to Hollywood in 1925, winning an Academy Award ten years later in The Informer but being largely used as aggressive, Irish-biased comedy relief.
