Sweet-faced, strawberry-blonde, healthy-looking American singing star (a child entertainer, as Fanny Rose), whose rich, melodious adult voice captivated record buyers and radio audiences in the early 1940s. Her special appeal never came across in her few films. Married to George Montgomery from 1943 to 1960. A long association with Burt Reynolds, but a decade later was eventually broken off. She was honored with three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the categories of Radio, Recording and Television. In addition, Shore was inducted into the TV Hall of Fame . Shore was never nominated for an Academy Award.
