Olympic swimming champion who won a bronze medal for America in 1928 and a gold in 1932, before becoming as famous playing intergalactic heroes Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers as another swimming champ, Johnny Weissmuller did playing Tarzan. Crabbe became a "B" western star of the 1940s before moving into business and becoming an executive in water sports. In 1971 he broke the world 400 metre freestyle record for over-sixties! He was honored with one star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Television. Crabbe was never nominated for an Academy Award.
