MINI BIO:
Tall, broad-shouldered, light-haired, agile American actor with curling lips, icy eyes, and taut features. A former stuntman, Wilke looked ill-at-ease in a suit and, often seen in serials, was almost always cast as western villains. He made dozens of these minor "oaters" and almost 200 films, most of them in the period 1944-1958, before proving, towards the end of his career, that he could handle bona-fide character roles as well. He also made the occasional foray into horror, most notably as The Catman of Paris. Also billed variously as Robert Wilkie, Bob Wilkie, Robert Wilke and Bob Wilke.
